Yet another in the series featuring economically priced food in one of Ibiza's many restaurants. Today it's the turn of an Ibiza institution, the Restaurante Antonio in Ibiza town's Calle Abad y La Sierra.
Up the stairs, it's one of those no nonsense places that has been serving up home cooked food to generations of Ibicencos during lunchtimes over the years. To sample the food, you may have to queue and you may have to share a table with someone you didn't know before, but it all makes for a great experience and with prices like these it's well worth it.
So, here's the 'Menu del Dia' – three courses for only €9.50 and this is what you have a choice of
1 Lentil stew, fideua (like paella but with pasta), house salad or chicken soup
2 Roast chicken, roast pork, grilled lamb, belly pork, grilled liver, potato omelette, potatoes and eggs, hake fillet, mackerel, anchovies in oil and vinegar, veal shank or baked bream.
3 Macedonia, baked apple, flan, yoghurt or fruit.
Something for almost everyone there!
